EXPERIENCE MEKONG DETLA WITH VIETNAM STREET FOODS TEAM

Mekong Delta is well-known as the bottom half of Vietnam “ two rice baskets’ - the abundant delta covering 50,000 square kilometers, while the other one is Red River Delta located in the North of Vietnam. This vigorous Mekong river ends and separates itself into nine main branches, that’s the reason why the Mekong river is also called “Nine Dragons.”

ITINERARY:

DAY 1

We are met and start at 07:30 AM from your hotel, our guides will greet you and drive you to the Mekong Delta on our motorbikes.

Upon arrival in My Tho, we visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda, the biggest pagoda in Tien Giang province was built in 1894 by the respected monk Thich Hue Dang. Its unique architecture is a mixture of Cambodian, Vietnamese and Chinese style. In the past, this place provided shelter for Vietnamese patriots, but now it is a home for disabilities, orphans kids.

At the next destination, we come to the Coconut Pagoda in Phoenix Island, in order to discover one of the most peculiar religious evolutions in the world, the Coconut Religion, support consuming only coconut and drinking only coconut milk. It was founded in 1963 by Nguyen Thanh Nam otherwise known as Coconut Monk, largely based on some Buddhist and Christian beliefs. His religion used reach the peak of more than 4,000 followers, however it was abolished in 1975 by the Vietnamese government.

Then we take a canoe trip to an island while sightseeing both the tranquil rural life and the peaceful natural setting of Vietnam along the way. Right after arriving in the island, we have a lunch with local rice noodles and traditional fresh spring roll.

After fulfilling your empty stomach with tasty Southern food, our guides will take you to the tropical fruit garden in Honey Bee Farm. At our farm, you will have an opportunity to taste many kinds of fresh fruit while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

Afterward our boat keep driving you to the traditional coconut candy workshop where you can find out how the candy is produced and taste them hot when they just be taken out of the oven.

Moving to the next stop, you will have a chance to explore the Snake Farm. This farm has the biggest collection of reptiles from the poisonous to non poisonous snake. The variety of snake is used for different purposes like skin exported or meat supplied to local restaurants.

At the end of the day, we spend a night relaxing and sleeping in a lovely homestay in Ben Tre Province.

DAY 2

From the homestay, we start our journey at 07:30 AM. Passing through beautiful village roads, our drivers take you to the Bonsai Village in Vinh Bac. Take your time learning about feeding and growing up the bonsai tree while meeting the local islanders to learn more about the local daily life in the Mekong delta.

Next, we visit a fruit garden of durian and mangosteen, enjoy some tropical fruits by the way, then move to the last destination, the rice farm, to gain an insight into the agriculture field of Vietnam - the second largest rice exporter in the world.

In the end, we head back to HCMC. Our trip finishes at the lobby of your hotels, our tour guides will say goodbye to you with their truly happy smile.
